  1. Latin name is ‘Hypochaeris Radicata’, but as it wasn’t a nature photo contest just used the common names!😁😉

  2. Well done everyone – another great set of images. Thanks Ian, for the name of the flower – to me…

  3. Well done to everyone for the ‘Three’ pictures – I was amused to see that Mary and Ian had picked…

  4. Thank you for the nice feedback on my bumblebee shots last week! Not superglue, no, just some pied piper music……

Great subtle colours on Mary’s sunset and Susi’s antelope, and Bob’s delicate flowers.
Shot my image on the kitchen worktop, the radio gives the blue rim light, and a table lamp with a warm white energy saving bulb the yellow light. Plenty of processing to remove wayward blue light and clean up the crystal.

Favourites this week are the subtle colours on the sunset images of Mary’s Sunset Silhouette and Susi’s Lonely Antelope. Always the colour that draws me in. I shot my crystal glass on the kitchen worktop where all the mail goes, just squeezed it in. The radio in the background gave the subtle blue rim light and a table lamp with an energy saving bulb gave the warm yellow light. I used my 180 mm macro lens to get in really close. Also some post processing to clean up some wayward blue light and an image of the radio, and intensify the colours. The blue/gold combo I really liked, a classic combo.

Not so many entries this week – well done those who had a go. Some of these were probably not taken in lockdown, but that is still fine – if you do not have the time, or the right subject, sharing something you have taken in the past is still great. We love to see your images on the theme – it gives us all ideas of things to try for ourselves. Nagui’s image has lots of interest, shapes and a human form, well done – I wonder where that was taken? Bob’s sweet peas are very delicate – did you grow them yourself? There have been some lovely sunsets recently, Ian’s & Susi’s colours are superb – I would swap my trees for a lonely antelope…. but I fear there are too few of those in Woodley. June has been creative again, lovely light and form, simple but elegant – I do not have a dedicated spot for doing indoor photography, maybe that is something I shold be investigating? Brenda’s railings are great, and make the enormous tree look like it is a caged animal… or maybe Brenda is in the cage looking out… lots of story thoughts there. Now to think about metallic… definitely sounds like I need that home studio set-up!!
