These are suggestions only!
Photographers are encouraged to use their own imagination and creativity in their images
Notes
- The set subjects were suggested by club members and voted for by the club as a whole
- The guidelines are suggestions only and are open to interpretation and creativity by the photographer
- If any doubt, Google the subject for inspiration & examples, or ask in club for other members’ views
- Judge has final say on the night of the competition
2021-22 Season
- TOC1 PDI Plant Life
- Plant life photography is an exercise in celebrating colour and/or texture. Whether it’s the vibrant red of a rose or the deep purple of a violet, colourful flowers and/or textures of leaves and petals
- TOC2 Print Street/Reportage
- Street photography, also sometimes called candid photography, is photography conducted for art or enquiry that features unmediated chance encounters and random incidents within public places
- Reportage photography, or what’s also known as documentary photography, is a photographic style that captures a moment or event in a narrative fashion, i.e., images that tell a story

- Sports photography refers to the genre of photography that covers all types of sports
